JULIANA CHUN

Born in Kingston (Ontario – Canada), Juliana received a Bachelors Degree in Music (Violoncello) at Indiana University – Bloomington where she also received a degree in Broadcasting. She later obtained a Masters in Film and Video from Columbia College (Chicago).

Juliana has worked for more than 15 years in television, advertisement, cinema as well as other types of formats. She began her career in Canada in adverisement, working with some of the biggest agencies (Leo Burnett, Foote Cone & Belding, McClaren Lintas, among others) and with directors of international fame such as Ian Gabriel, David McNally, Tony Kaye, Antoine Fuqua, etc. She moved to Los Angeles where she began to work in television series, music videos and film (MTV, High 5 Entertainment, Fox, Propaganda Films etc)

In 1993 The Box Worldwide hired her for the launch, production and programming of their Interactive music channel in Holland, Italy, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Chile and New Zealand.

In 1999, Juliana was named the Production Director of QUIERO TELEVISIÓN to launch the first Digital Terrestrial Platform in Spain, being responsible for:

• “Big Brother 1 & 2” – Establishing the infrastructure necessary for the 24 hour signal, crew hire, design and installation of the control room, Edition and programming of all promos, daily negotiations with Tele 5 and Endemol, in all production and programming issues.

• E-Music Television – 24 hour Interactive channel. Responsable for the Executive production, creation Edition and programming of all promos and weekly programs. Daily coordination with the channel owners in the UK, being the most successful chnnel of the platform.

• Bullfights of Valencia: Responsable for the live broadcast of “Feria de Fallas de Valencia”. This included organizing the satellite uplink from the mobile units, crew hire, hire of all technical and artistic persnonnel, as well as the hiring of all the technical installations. Creation of the on-air look and the supervision of all autopromotions and graphic design..

• Responsable for the departments of production, post-production, Graphics and sound. Designed and supervised the installation of 4 post-production suites (Avid Media Composer, 2 Pro Tools suites and 8 graphics workstations(2 & 3D). Supervisor of a department of more than 20 people and responsable for the preparation and maintanence of the annual budget.

Since 2002 Juliana has been working as a free-lance editor, producer, executive producer, and creative director with a variety of production companies both in Spain and abroad, expanding her knowledge of production to programs for the Internet, web design, documentaries, advertisement, corporate videos and graphic design.
